Many of you liked and supported the appreciation we posted recently for race officials. So now we need to thank another group without whom the WMCCL wouldn’t exist: the event organisers.
Each of our events is hosted by a different club (or clubs) from within the region. They supply the team of volunteers who make the event happen. And the most important person from that team is the event organiser. The WMCCL supports its organisers with guidance, equipment and services, but they pull everything together – including working with the venue; designing the course; managing race entries, and managing volunteers on the day. It’s hard work, which begins months before the event takes place, but it’s fun and hugely rewarding.
So, a HUGE thanks to our WMCCL race organisers! You are the real heroes of cyclocross.
