The Shimano Lazer West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League arrives in Shrewsbury for Round 2, and we can’t wait to welcome riders from across the Midlands and beyond to one of Britain’s most established cyclo-cross venues.
For over 20 years, Mid Shropshire Wheelers has been developing cyclo-cross at Shrewsbury Sports Village. During that time we’ve welcomed thousands of riders, introduced countless newcomers to the sport and helped build a venue that has become one of the country’s favourites.
Our proud history includes:
🏆 Hosting the British Cycling National Cyclo-cross Championships in 2016 and 2020
🇬🇧 Welcoming the National Trophy Series on numerous occasions, with the series returning to Shrewsbury on 19–20 December 2026
🚴 Delivering regional, national and grassroots racing for riders of every age and ability

If you’re looking to sharpen your skills before the league begins, join us for our hugely popular Friday Night Cyclo-cross Series throughout August. These fun, friendly evening races are perfect whether you’re new to cyclo-cross, returning after the summer, or preparing for the league season.
With races for children, youths and adults, they’re the ideal opportunity to get some quality race practice on the same venue that hosts Round 2.
