The WMCCL Committee has decided to allow riders in the Women’s race a 5-minute start on the Men during the final Course Practice break. That’s the period between 13:05 and 13:35 when riders in the last two races of the day are allowed to inspect the course. This responds to feedback from our women riders that they find it difficult to practice their lines when the course is very congested.
So, from 13:05 to 13:10, only female riders will be allowed to ride the course.
The men get longer on the course during this break because gridding of the women’s race starts at around 13:25. So there is actually still more time allowed for men to practice the course than for the women. But the 5-minute start gives the women time to get ahead and practicing the course with less congestion.
The Commissaire teams will enforce this, but please don’t try to circumvent this by joining the course at a point other than the approved place. Don’t forget that riders should be joining Course Practice at a specific point.
