In our youngest category (Under-6), our Boys winner for 2024 is Bradley Walker of Newport Shropshire CC. He won eight of the eleven races. That put him well ahead of Henry Keay, who won two, and Ranulph Shipley, who won one.
This was Bradley’s second season of cyclocross within the WMCCL. He had a season long battle with fellow club mates Ranulph and Lewie Callister as well as newly made friend Henry. On the few occasions Bradley didn’t win these battles, he was on the podium.
Bradley said it has been a fun year of cyclocross, which has been hard with lots of tracks testing his ability this year, but this has been fun – especially having lots of mud.
His favourite course was the new venue at Sandwell where he enjoyed the downhill and the muddiness. He also enjoyed Shrewsbury where he got to ride the same course as his brother in the Under-10s making it a real challenge.
He is looking forward to next season where he moves up to the Under-8s.
