Charlotte Furniss of Newport Shropshire CC won our Under-10 Female category by just one point. Chloe Coton from Stafford RC took an early lead (with four straight wins), but Charlotte got stronger during the season and ended up beating Chloe 6:5 in terms of race wins. Persephone Emuss was always just behind them in third place.
Charlotte has loved this last season of racing – it was a tough start for her and there seemed to be a big gap to close between her and Chloe but she kept going and improved her speed and endurance as the season progressed showing some great determination.
Charlotte says it was a very close run league victory and I want to congratulate everyone else who raced with me – we’ve had some brilliant races. “I enjoyed the technical courses especially the Heart of England and Reddich courses along with my home race at Lilleshall. I also loved seeing my racing friends most Sundays and cheering on my U12 friends and cousin Isla.
I’m looking forward to racing in the U12 category next year and hope we get some nice muddy conditions.”
