Senior Male Winner

Rob Burns of Malvern Cycle Sport retained his Senior title in WMCCL 2024. That’s four Senior category wins in a row since we resumed the League after Covid, and five wins in total, which is a fantastic achievement.

As always, Rob had to contend with some very strong U23 riders, but he won in Round 7 and was in the top three overall in all the other races he did except one. It was that consistency that out him ahead of Tom Payton, who was second, and John McAllister, who was third in this category

Rob has also become a race organiser, which makes him a true hero of the League. Here are his words.

“Had another great season this year and was really happy with the form to take the senior title again. Competition is always strong and had some great battles again with both Sullivan Berry (overall and U23 league champ) and Tom Payton (Senior Regional Champ).

I was also really pleased to organise the Regional Champs – despite Storm Bert’s best efforts. So just wanted to say a really big thanks to the family and all the volunteers from Malvern and Stourbridge that made it happen.”

Very well-done Rob!
