All of our under-12 winners are exciting young talents. None more so than Zofia Latuszynska from Solihull Cycling Club, who won all of the 10 races she rode in the Under-12 Girls category. Elsie Thornton of Cycle Stars and Charlotte Furniss of Newport Shropshire Cycling Club won the other two. Elsie finished second and Charlotte third in this category.
Zosia moves up to the Under-14 category next season. We can’t wait to see if she will continue her winning momentum. Here are her reflections on the season.
“Wow! There are no words to describe this year’s season. Excitement, happiness, the sense of friendly competition, the thrill of racing with all my friends, all rolled into the space of an epic season. I loved every race and every moment spent chatting with my friends and I created memories I would never forget.
All the races were unique in their own way, whether the conditions were extremely muddy or whether it was a fast and dry course. Each race put different skills to the test and pushed me to perform at my very best. Personally, my favourite race was the West Mid Champs at Baggeridge. I really felt I was in my element as the muddy conditions really suited me. There were lots of technical sections and the mud took it to a completely new level!
A massive shout-out to Solihull Cycling Club who helped me prepare for the season and boosted my skills and my confidence on the bike. I really enjoyed and appreciated all the training sessions and helpful tips and can’t wait for next year!
A big thank you to all the commissaires, clubs and marshals who did an amazing job at running the races and allowing them to happen!
