Boys Under-10 Champion

The third in our series on WMCCL 2025/26 winners is Flynn Higgins of Lichfield City Cycling Club, who won our Under-10 Boys category. He won nine races – finishing the standings well ahead of Benjamin Stephens of Wolverhampton Wheelers CC and Harvey Yorke of CYCLE STARS. These are his words.

“I have really enjoyed competing every week in the WMCCL. It has been a great season for me in the U10 category. It’s been fun racing each week against my cycling buddies … and just as much fun playing with them afterwards. I have also loved watching and cheering on my two younger brothers and dad who have competed each week in the series too.

My favourite round was the Wolverhampton Wheelers round at Himley Hall. It was a great venue .. with a super tough U10 course. The hill was steep and definitely suited me. I managed to put my arms in the air as I won the race which made me feel like one of my cycling heroes.

I would like to thank my club LCCC, to all the coaches, volunteers and older riders there who have helped with weekly training sessions to improve my cyclocross skills. A big thank you to everyone at the WMCCL and all the West Midlands clubs for running all the events.
Next cyclocross season, I move up to the U12 category and can’t wait to carry on racing in the mud. See you on the start line.”

We look forward to that Flynn. Congratulations on your win.
