Our Rule 18 (to paraphrase) states that riders who can provide the committee with evidence of having ridden in other British Cycling regions/home countries championships where they are eligible to race, will be awarded their average points for the WMCCL event that day.
Our position in recent years has been that Under-12s are excluded from this because their events are not classed by British Cycling as true Championships – at least as far as the English regions are concerned.
However, we now recognise that in Wales at least, the Under-12 race is classed as a Championship. So, we have decided to alter our interpretation of Rule 18, which is within the Committee’s power to do. This will be clarified, reviewed and voted upon at our next AGM.
The change is as follows. As we think it would be unfair to have a different rule for English and Welsh riders, we have decided to invite ALL Under-12 (including Under-10 and Under-8) riders to claim average points if they chose to ride a different regional or national championship event on 23rd November.
If you wish to nominate a rider where this applies, please use the contact form on the League Tables Page
