Our Under-14 Male winner this year, with a remarkable 100% record, was Isaac Vickery of Rotor Race Team. Isaac won all ten of the League races he did in 2024 – including the West Midlands Regional Championships. He was chased all the way by two riders who finished equal on points. Jude White and Lucas McCann could only be separated on average points, with Jude just edging it for second place.
We’ve asked all our winners to tell us about their League season. Here are Isaac’s words:
“I enjoyed racing the WMCCL this season. Giving the U16s a minute start and then trying to chase them down has been a healthy challenge for me. Combining the British National Trophy with WMCCL has been another challenge, as it gives little time away from the racecourse. However, fighting on both fronts has kept me fit and strong.
The weather has played its part this year with some extreme conditions. I think the best cyclocross course is one that gives an advantage to the riders with the best skills. For me this year it was a tie. Redditch, with an excellent course designed by Paul Berry had a bit of everything and the conditions were just about perfect for me. Lilleshall was my biggest winning margin, and I very nearly caught the U16 winner – another lap and he would have been mine.
I have raced WMCCL for seven seasons, since I was six, Jude White has been in 99% of all those races – I am sure we will both be back next year to do it all again.”
We look forward to it Isaac!
