Entry, Sign On and Prize Guidelines
To enter these events, go to RiderHQ and search for “WMCCL”. The cost of entry is cheaper if you enter in advance, and you will get an additional discount if you are a members of the WMCCL. Membership also allows you to earn League ranking points and to be included in our age-related league tables. It also means that you will be gridded for the start based on your average points in the league. Non-league members are gridded behind the league riders.
To join the WMCCL, go to: WMCCL Membership via RiderHQ
Here are the online entry fees. Note the discount for those who have WMCCL membership.
Online entry will close on the Tuesday before each race – except the Regional Championships, which will close on the Sunday before the event. The Regional Championships must be entered in advance.
Apart from the Regional Championships, you can enter on the day, but it will cost you the following amount on top of the fee listed above:
- £2 for categories U12 & younger
- £5 for all other categories
On top of that, there is an additional charge for all Junior, Senior and Masters riders who are not members of British Cycling (BC). We are obliged to charge those riders an extra £5 each time they sign-on for an event. This is effectively a “day license” to race. It is primarily for insurance purposes. If you are not not a BC member, please be ready to pay the additional charge each time you sign-on to race. Please note that this charge is not paid when you enter the events online via RiderHQ. It is paid on the day. Please also note that some of our events are not able to take card payments on the day.
On-the-day entrants and non-league members will also be gridded at the back of the grid of their respective category.
At a riders first race day they will collect their timing transponder and their race number which they will keep for the season.
Numbers and timing transponders must be returned at the riders final race of the season.
Any rider taking part in a race without first having entered via the online entry system or by on-the day entry will be suspended from the WMCCL and reported to British Cycling for further sanction.
There are no on the day prizes for categories above Under-12. Each race organiser will contribute to an overall Shimano Lazer WMCCL prize fund for registered riders only. Non registered riders are not eligible for overall league prizes.
All Under-16 categories will have on the day podium medals for boys and girls – whether they are registered with the league or not – but only WMCCL registered riders will be eligible for overall league awards.

Code of conduct for spectators and families
We all have a responsibility to promote high standards of behaviour and ensure the Shimano Lazer WMCCL is an enjoyable, safe and positive environment.
Events in the League are voluntarily organised to develop riders’ technical, physical, tactical and social skills. Winning isn’t everything!
Please play your part and observe our Code of Conduct at all times by agreeing to:
- Encourage and applaud effort as well as success
- Respect the organisers’ commissaires’ and committee’s decisions
- Stay off the course during each race
- Avoid criticism of a rider for any mistakes or errors
- Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive behaviour or language
One Bike ‘Cross
The WMCCL has an additional subcategory within the league for those riding just one bike during races. This does not apply to the Under-12 categories, which are already ‘one bike’ according to British Cycling rules.
