Under UCI Regulations, it is the age category into which a competitor falls on 1st January of the cyclo-cross season which determines his/her category for the whole season. For the 2010-20011 season the following age categories will apply in BC cyclo-cross events:
The National Senior Championship is restricted to riders born in 1992 to 1992; under 23 riders must enter their separate Championship race.
Under 6 born in 2005 or later
Under 8 born 2003 or 2004
Under 10 born 2001 or 2002
Under 12 born 1999 or 2000
Youth-U14, born 1997 or 1998
Youth-U16, born 1995 or 1996
Junior born 1993 or 1994
Under 23 born 1988 to 1992
Senior born 1971 to 1992
Veteran born 1970 or earlier
Vet 40+ born 1966 to 1970 (Veteran)
Vet 45+ born 1961 to 1965 (Senior Veteran)
Vet 50+ born 1956 to 1960 (Grand Veteran)
Vet 55+ born 1951 to 1955 (Master Veteran)
Vet 60+ born 1946 to 1950 (Grand Master Vet)
Vet 65+ born 1941 to 1945 (Super Veteran)
Vet 70+ born 1936 to 1940 (Super Plus Vet)
Vet 75+ Born 1935 or earleir
Women born 1971 to 1994
Women Vets born 1970 or earlier
Races for Women are open to Junior, Under 23, Senior and Veteran Women
