Congratulations to all the West Midland Cyclo Cross League riders who journeyed to North Yorkshire to take part in the iconic 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross on 24th September. This really is the World’s toughest Cyclo Cross race, 60kms overall race distance, 1524m of climbing, 4 miles of carrying your bike over some of the rockiest, steepest conditions that you’ll ever likely to face and it has to be on Cyclo Cross riders bucket list. There have been some epic rides by West Mids riders in the past and previous winner Verity Appleyard made it to the podium in 3rd place despite at least one puncture. Male League winner from last season Ewan Grivell – Mellor looks to be the highest placed male rider in 97th but in his first attempt and punctures on Ingleborough and Pen Y Gent losing him places, maybe next year will be better? Lottery for places opens in the Spring next year…got to be in it to win it!
